No one's gonna read this, but I like to write. It keeps my mind occupied.
Ken Shamrock is off the show due to getting cut from an accidental headbutt while warming up today. Seth Petruzelli is now in the main event against Kimbo Slice. The ratings have already been KO'd.
Frank Shamrock buried his brother on commentary, saying his making mistakes like this disgrace the family name. Frank still wants to make a fight between himself and Ken. Gus Johnson no-sold him.

Beni "Razor" Radach vs. Murilo "Ninja" Rua
Round 1 - Radach rocked him and was all over him for a while, but Ninja survived. They almost KO'd each other at the same time, but neither actually went out. Ninja got sort of close to getting a kimura. Entertaining round.
Round 2 - Ninja got caught trying a flying knee and went down. Radach dropped bombs from a standing position until the referee stopped it at 2:31. It was actually pretty back-and-forth until the finish.

Karen Bryant interviewed Gina Corano and actually said the word, "Women want to go in there and open up a can." I thought they left the seat down?
Sorry.

Gina Corano vs. Kelly Kobold-Gavin
They just said that Christiane "Cyborg" Santos beat Yoko Takahashi via decision in the prelims, so if Gina wins, she's fighting Mrs. Cyborg next.
Round 1 - Rounds are only 3:00 long. Kobold immediately clinches and tries to wrestle Gina down. Gina finally breaks free and swings away. Kobold presses her against the fence. She uses lot of energy trying to get her down. They end the round throwing punches.

Round 2 - Kelly takes some shots and goes for the clinch again. She keeps breaking away, throwing strikes, then clinching again. Gina is now strategically hitting shots to Kobold's face. Both women are bleeding, but Kobold definitely has taken more damage. She finally gets Gina down, but doesn't have a lot of time to work. Gina is surely ahead on points so far.

Round 3 - Kobold tries for a double leg forever. Crowd isn't happy. Ref separates them. Kobold swings wildly and gets a couple knees. They're against the fence, and Gina hits a few knees. Gina almost gets a rear naked choke while in front of Kobold. One of these women is plastic. Gina tries to kill Kobold with icks, but she survives till the bell.
Carano wins by unanimous decision. (I just realized that I spelled her name wrong last time.)

Andrei Arlovski vs. Roy Nelson
Round 1 - Clinching. Arlovski takes Nelson down, but Nelson comes up on top. Roy goes to north-south position so his beer gut is on Arlovski's head. Crowd is booing as Nelson tries for a kimura. Ref stands them up. They clinch. Nelson eats a huge knee. Crowd boos inactivity. Ref separates them. Arlovski starts finding openings and lands some shots and leg kicks. They end the round in a clinch.
Karen Bryant interviews Tito in the front row. Tito says he's a week away from signing a deal with someone. Karen stirs the pot between Frank Shamrock and Tito.

Round 2 - Arlovski is rocked momentarily by a shot. Clinch! Nelson is tired, which shouldn't be surprising, considering his conditioning. Arlovski hits some Muay Thaiknees and lands a bunch of shots. Nelson goes down from a right; he bounces off the cage, hits the ground, and the ref stops it. Nelson is mad, but the way he fell, it had to be over.

Jake Shields vs. Paul Daley
Round 1 - Daley stuffs a takedown. They trade strikes with no one doing any damage. Shields gets him own and gets mount. Shields hits little punches to get Daley to react and open up. Sheilds gets side mount, then moves back to full mount. Daley keeps working, but he seems trapped. Shields tries an armbar, but the cage is in the way, so he gets back into mount. Then he tries again, and Daley takes advantage and gets in his guard. Daley doesn't have much time to work.
Karen Bryant interviews Kimbo. Everyone always tries to bring up Kimbo's streetfighting, and he always dismisses it and says he's a pro now. Smart man. He's not the best promo, though.

Round 2 - Daley stops a takedown. Shields tries a leglock, but Daley slips free. Shields tries takedown after takedown, but Daley doesn't allow them. Shields gets one, though, and immediately has mount. He teases an armbar. Daley seems nervous about trying anything for fear of giving something up. He smiles at Shields as he takes a couple elbows. Side mount by Shields, and Daley almost slides out. Shields is moving around a lot; seems like he's trying to confuse Daley. Shields finally gets an armbar, Daley tries to twist free, but he's stuck and he taps. Great technical showcase by Shields.

No upsets yet, and the main event is next. They're still going to go over their scheduled ending time, though.

They showed highlights of Mrs. Cyborg trying to maul Yoko Takahashi. They were hoping for a quick destruction, and they wanted to show the whole fight, but it went to a decision. They're kind of lucky that both Santos and Carano came out with wins Hopefully, the promotion survives to put that fight on. If not, I guess someone else will.

Kimbo Slice vs. Seth Petruzelli
They showed Hulk and Brooke Hogan in the crowd for about one second. And now the ref is spouting some corny lines to the fighters.
Round 1 - Petruzelli just destroyed Kimbo. He looked afraid at first, but he was just pushing Kimbo with a thrust kick. Kimbo swung and Seth nailed him with a short jab that stunned him. Then he pounded like a madman until Kimbo was almost stiff on the ground. The ref checked on Kimbo, and Kimbo tied to take him down; that's a sure-fire sign that he was out.
And Gus Johnson called it the biggest upset in the HISTORY of MMA. Yeah, a veteran fighter knocked out a hyped up ex-street fighter who barely beat James Thompson and fought on short notice, but it's an upset.
Kimbo is still hyping the crowd, inviting them to the after-party, then he just walks away from the interview as Gus tries to ask another question. Gus seems a lot more depressed than the man who lost the fight.

Great rundown. I really wish Ken would have fought Kimbo. Absolutely sucks that he managed to get out of it on such very short notice.
Crush is still my girl.

I went to bed, and actually forgot about the show. But it's nice to make a paycheck.
Kimbo does bring the casual fans in, but EliteXC really needs to improve itself some more. I think they had more potential prior to signing Kimbo, as I'm getting tired of the same fighters. I really do appreciate the female fighting, but there's more than just Gina Carano. What happens if she loses 2 fights in a row, or 3? What happens to their female division then? Right now, it's centered completely on her, and that isn't necessarily good.
Too bad about Ninja, he's not doing so well these last couple of times.
