Thought I'd add a little something to the discussion. I was thinking the other day about my favorite match I've ever seen live, and wanted to see what other people think.
Mine:
1. "Superstar" Steve Fender vs Low Ki [CSW in Lawrence, KS](May 2007) Technical and stiff. Both men brought out the best in the other. There is a possibility that this match will never make it to DVD due to the current CSW situation.
2. No Rope Barbed Wire Match: Michael Strider vs Jeremy Wyatt [CSW in Lawrence, KS] (February 2008) A match of the year candidate with both men pulling out all the stops. Another match that might never make it to DVD.
3. Kensuke Sasaki & Katsuhiko Nakajima vs Keith Walker & Oliver John [WLW in Eldon, MO] (September 2008) These four were very good on this night. The crowd was hot and the exchanges between Sasaki and Walker were great... with the Nakajima & John having some great exchanges, too. Stiff and legitimately hard fought.
And you?

Uhh...There was a match in Sedalia, MO years ago between T-Money and Mark Godecker that will always stick in my mind. It was the opening match on a WLW show, and it was probably a spotfest, but I just remember loving it. Unfortunately, I'll probably never see it again, as I don't think it was taped except by the wrestlers' families. Dingo vs. AJ Styles in CSW was good...I'd like to see that again to remember if it was great or not. Actually, Dingo vs. anybody is good. Dingo vs. Colt Cabana wasn't an amazing and engaging battle, but it was great fun. I have clips of it: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SbTEcH0cO8oOh, Michael Strider vs. Mark Sterling in the finals of the Kansas title tournament was awesome to see live. They really put a lot of emotion into it and just seemed to do everything right. Delirious vs. Matt Sydal vs. Payday on that same show was also good, but Sterling vs. Strider...yes, it's probably my favorite live match. Definitely my favorite to watch again on DVD. I'm gonna go look for it now.

Right now, nothing can easily compare to seeing DDT in Korakuen Hall. The highlight of the show was the "The Match The Fans Most Want To See" between Kota Ibushi & HARASHIMA. The "Golden Lotion Ladder Scramble Match" that had the Nuru Nuru Brothers and Danshoku Dieno was pretty nice too. And Antonio Honda in his match too.

I knew Peter's would be from that card Seriously, how can I NOT pick a match from that show? 1. It was in Japan. 2. It was in Korakuen Hall. 3. It was around New Year, the biggest holiday in Japan. If I choose something local, I'd probably have to pick the following in no particular order. Brett Young & Hype Gotti Vs. Derek Stone & Mason HunterClassic comedy match through and through. No Rope Barbed Wire Match: Michael Strider Vs. Jeremy WyattThe most brutal match I have ever seen. Stairway To Hell Match: Michael Strider Vs. Payday PattersonA great match to end the Best of 7 Series feud. NWA Kansas Championship: Mark Sterling (C) Vs. Hype GottiGreat match for both guys, with Gotti almost getting the win. Dingo Vs. AJ Styles & Dingo Vs. Colt CabanaEnough said. Dingo is really great for his small size.

I can imagine that it was great in Japan. I wish I could go catch a Korean wrestling show sometime. Maybe upon my return to Korea next year (I hope).

It might be more interesting to catch a South Korean MMA show as MMA is becoming extremely popular there. Spirit MC is the biggest promotion that I know if in South Korea. As far as Pro Wrestling, I'm clueless.

I know that was injured fairly badly this year in South Korea on a card, but I don't know anything more than that. I'm pretty big on Korean history and culture, yet most big Korean wrestlers are from Japan.

There's a Korean wrestling group that I've seen next to nothing about called New Korea Pro Wrestling. Actually, that might have just been a New Japan Pro Wrestling show that was held in Korea. Kurt Angle was injured by a Korean wrestler on that show who tried to do a body slam or northern lights bomb or something. Hey, here's some videos of the show: www.youtube.com/user/gangstit I didn't know AJ Styles was there. PS, Peter is a mark.
