EWR is like the GM mode in the SmackDown! games but much, much more in depth and includes the vast majority of wrestlers around now. You run a promotion, book every match, decide every outcome, assign champs, run feuds, set ticket prices and schedule shows...
And it is so fun.

Sorry but can you fill us in on what EWR stands for, and possibly a little bit more information on it. I'm just confused as to what you're talking about.

It's the Adam Ryland wrestling simulator from a few years back. It can be addictive and very fun. Adam Ryland owns Grey Dog Software, and that freeware game (Extreme Wrestling Revenge or the newer Extreme Warfare Revenge) is the most popular of his games.

Basically you're the booker for an existing promotion, you come in and book all the shows. Depending on the size of the given show you have a certain number of segments (the bigger the show, the more segments) and each segment can be filled with either an angle, an interview, or a match. Angles are like show downs, video clips, where bosses announce matches, and such things. Interview is an interview meant to hype a match, verbally attack someone, or continue a feud. And matches are the matches, there's quite a few choices (Texas Death, Cage, Ladder, Submission, I Quit, Falls Count Anywhere, Hell in a Cell, First Blood to name a few). You book the show and then start the show and it gives you a generic write up along with ratings to tell you how you did. It'll tell you how many fans attended, how ticket sells were, and if it was a televised show or PPV they'll give you ratings. You can book feuds, assign champions, suspend belts, the whole nine yards.
One of the cool features is that wrestlers will talk back to you. If you book Stevie Richards over Triple H, as you're booking the match a pop up screen will show up having Triple H saying he doesn't deserve to lose. And if you make the match, ignoring Aitch's comments, his morale could go down, making him a worse worker and not give as good match qualities. Heck, I had Tyler Black refuse to job to Low Ki, even though they had the same overness. Speaking of, overness is the measure of how popular a wrestler is.
